Since 1974 Edgewater Systems for Balanced Living, Inc. (Edgewater), has been providing mental health services for the most vulnerable individuals and families in and around Gary and Northwest Indiana. In 2017, Edgewater changed its name to Edgewater Health to promote our expansion into primary care, our designation as a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) look alike, and to clarify our mission and purpose. Edgewater Health is certified to provide mental health and substance abuse treatment services by the State of Indiana Family and Social Services Administration, Division of Mental Health and Addiction. Edgewater is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).
